The Avatar map of Pandora, explained

Pandora Avatar Map is a free, interactive Avatar map for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. It puts every collectible, landmark, Na'vi camp and RDA site of the Western Frontier on one zoomable map, so you can see exactly where to go next instead of flying in circles through the fog.

We built it for players who want to finish the game properly: the 100% hunters, the trophy chasers and anyone who simply cannot find that last Tarsyu Sapling. It runs in any browser on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, tablet or phone, it is free, and you never need an account.

What this Avatar map of Pandora covers

The main Avatar map shows the whole Western Frontier, the part of Pandora that the game adds to the world of Avatar. It is split into three regions that you unlock in story order: Kinglor Forest, the Upper Plains and the Clouded Forest. Every pin belongs to one of more than 40 categories, from Tarsyu Saplings, Tarsyu Flowers and Bellsprigs to Zeswa Kites, Kame'tire Dolls, Sarentu Totems, Treasure Hunt Comics, Aeolian Wind Flutes, Data Collectors and every RDA installation, outpost and base you need for 100% Air Quality.

Each pin has a short, practical hint written for the moment you are standing nearby: which ledge to climb, which cave to enter or which root to follow. Where a position is only known roughly, the popup says so, so you always know how much to trust it.

Kinglor Forest on the Avatar map

Kinglor Forest is the southern part of the Western Frontier and the first region you explore. It is a humid rainforest of giant trees, rivers and floating mountains, home of the Aranahe clan. On the Kinglor Forest Avatar map you will find Silk Woods around the Hometree, the Gossamer Lakes and Tangled Lake to the north-west, Waterway Valley along the eastern edge, and Shadow Wood in the south under the drifting rocks of the Boundless Range.

Rising Spires and Stoneblade Ridge, where the Great Roots biome with its huge stairfoot tree roots grows, lead north towards the plains. Kinglor Forest holds a big share of the early collectibles, so it is the best place to start ticking things off.

Upper Plains on the Avatar map

North of the forest, the Upper Plains open into wide, wind-swept grassland with tall rock pillars, broken stone arches and big lakes. This is Zeswa clan country, where the giant zakru roam. The Upper Plains Avatar map covers landmarks such as Mother of Rivers, Shattered Bridge and the Weeping Steps, plus all 9 Zeswa Kites, which only exist in this region.

Clouded Forest on the Avatar map

The Clouded Forest fills the western side of the map. It is a cool, misty highland of redwood-like trees, mossy boulders, swamps and toxic yava fog around old RDA ruins, and it is home of the Kame'tire clan. On the Clouded Forest Avatar map you can track every Kame'tire Doll and find landmarks like the Crying Giant waterfall, where several collectibles sit high on the cliffs.

The DLC maps: Heart of the Plains, the Spires and The Ravines

The story packs do not extend the main map. Each one loads as its own area, so our site gives each a separate, full-size map: Heart of the Plains from The Sky Breaker, the Spires of the Clouded Forest from Secrets of the Spires, and The Ravines from From the Ashes, which you play as So'lek. Switch between them with the map buttons in the corner of the map and your filters and progress come with you.

How to use the interactive map

Open the map, choose the categories you care about in the filter panel and hide the rest. On a phone the filters slide up from the bottom so the map keeps the whole screen. Search for any collectible or place by name, then tap a pin to read its hint. Press Mark as found once you have it and the pin fades out, so what is left on the map is exactly what you still need.

Your progress is saved automatically in your browser. To move it to another device, copy your progress code and paste it on the other side. Every pin also has a share link, which is handy when you want to show a friend exactly where something is. Prefer lists? The 100% checklist shows every collectible by category and region with the same progress.

Why not just use the in-game map?

The in-game map in Frontiers of Pandora hides everything under fog of war until you travel there, and undiscovered collectibles only appear as anonymous purple dots. That is great for exploring, but frustrating when you are missing one item out of fifty. This Avatar map shows everything at once, tells you what each dot is and remembers what you have already found.

It is also fast. The map loads a light preview first and sharpens as you zoom, the pins are drawn on a single canvas so it stays smooth even with every category turned on, and it is available in eight languages.

Looking for a different Avatar map?

This site maps Pandora from James Cameron's Avatar as it appears in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. If you are after a map of the Avatar world from Avatar: The Last Airbender (Republic City, the Air Temples and the four nations), or a map of Pandora: The World of Avatar at Disney's Animal Kingdom, those belong to other franchises and are not covered here.

Avatar map FAQ

How big is the Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora map?

Ubisoft has not published an official size, but fan measurements put the main Western Frontier map at roughly 255 square kilometres (about 98.5 square miles), around 16.5 km wide and 15.5 km tall. That covers Kinglor Forest, the Upper Plains and the Clouded Forest. The DLC areas Heart of the Plains, Spires of the Clouded Forest and The Ravines are separate maps on top of that.

Where is Kinglor Forest on the Avatar map?

Kinglor Forest is the southern part of the Western Frontier, with the Upper Plains to the north and the Clouded Forest to the west. It is the first region you explore and the home of the Aranahe clan, with areas such as Silk Woods, Waterway Valley on the eastern edge, Shadow Wood under the Boundless Range and Stoneblade Ridge leading up to the plains.

What are the purple dots on the Avatar map?

In Frontiers of Pandora a purple dot is a collectible or point of interest you have not discovered yet. It turns blue once you have discovered it and green once it is completed. Our interactive map names every one of those dots, so you know what you are heading for.

How do I zoom out on the Avatar map?

On this site, pinch with two fingers, scroll the mouse wheel, or use the minus button in the bottom right corner of the map. Double click or double tap to zoom back in. In the game itself, use the mouse wheel on PC, or the zoom buttons shown in the prompts at the bottom of the map screen on a controller.

How do I reveal the map in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora?

There are no towers or viewpoints that clear large areas at once. The fog only lifts where you travel, so the quickest way is to fly over the land on your ikran once the story unlocks it. If you would rather skip the fog entirely, our map already shows every collectible, camp and RDA site.

What is the Great Roots biome on the Avatar map?

The Great Roots is a biome of Kinglor Forest found around Rising Spires and Stoneblade Ridge. The huge roots of stairfoot trees cover the undergrowth there, which makes it a good place to gather stairfoot bark.

Is this a map of Avatar: The Last Airbender or Disney's Pandora?

No. This site maps Pandora from James Cameron's Avatar as it appears in the game Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. Republic City and the Air Temples belong to Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra, and Pandora: The World of Avatar is the themed land at Disney's Animal Kingdom.

How many Tarsyu Saplings are there?

The game gives no official total. Guides have mapped 50-51 (about 17-18 in Kinglor Forest, 19-20 in the Upper Plains, 13-14 in the Clouded Forest). Each gives 1 skill point, and the Sprouting Potential trophy only needs 20.

How many Tarsyu Flowers / Ancestor Skills are there?

12: five in Kinglor Forest (one from the story), five in the Upper Plains and two in the Clouded Forest. Each unlocks an Ancestor Skill and gives 2 skill points. The trophy needs 3.

How many Bellsprigs are there?

No official count. Guides list between 126 and 146 across the three regions, and each raises your max health. Only 20 are needed for Full Bloom.

Is there a collectible map in-game?

Yes, partly. Uncovering the fog reveals most activity icons (purple = undiscovered, blue = seen, green = done), and Tarsyu Flowers appear as red beams. Zeswa Kites, Kame'tire Dolls and treasure-hunt comic trailers are not marked.

Can I miss any collectibles or trophies?

No base-game trophy is missable. The first Resistance HQ closes after A Victory Celebration, but its notes and logs mostly respawn at the Resistance Hideout (one audio log may not). Everything else stays in free roam after the credits. In From the Ashes, skipping the Tree of Voices sapling early is reported to block 100% Hunter's Guide.

What do Sarentu Totems give?

Clan favor plus Sarentu gear designs at 3, 5, 8, 10 and 12 totems. Turning all 12 in to Ri'nela gets you the Sarentu Pouch, which boosts stealth.

Where are the Zeswa Kites?

All 9 are in the Upper Plains, mostly around the First Zakru in Mother of Rivers and across Shattered Bridge. They sit up high, so fly your banshee. Return them to Fa'zak at The Circle.

Where are the Kame'tire Dolls?

All 9 are in the Clouded Forest, usually inside hollow or fallen trunks or small caves near rivers. Na'vi Senses make them glow blue when you are close.

Why do I only see 9 Budding Watchers but need 10 for Mushroom Navigator?

The pods refill after about a day of real time. Finish all 9, wait, and redo one.

Are Data Collectors and Recon Retrievals the same thing?

Yes. The map calls them Data Collectors and the trophy calls them Recon Retrievals. There are 9 (2 Kinglor, 3 Upper Plains, 4 Clouded Forest).

How do I get 100% Air Quality?

Clear all 57 RDA sites: 35 installations, 19 outposts and 3 bases. Several are cleared in the story, and the open-world Laser Ore Processor Alpha is level 20, so leave it for late game.

How does fast travel work?

It unlocks during Welcome to the Resistance. You can travel to clan homes, Resistance bases, powered field labs, most Na'vi camps and liberated RDA sites. It costs 20% energy until you get the Free Fast Travel Ancestor Skill (Grasping Mountain, Clouded Forest).

How do I start the DLCs?

The Sky Breaker begins with An Invitation (from Priya outside the Resistance Hideout) and Secrets of the Spires with Anufi's Favor. Both unlock after Songs of the Ancestor, so you do not need to finish the main story. From the Ashes uses its own save and is played as So'lek.

Are DLC areas part of the main map?

No. Heart of the Plains, the Spires of the Clouded Forest and From the Ashes' Ravines all load as separate maps.

Do I need Memory Paintings, Field Labs or Ikran Gear Baskets for the Platinum?

No. Those three types are optional. Roughly 85% overall completion is enough for every base trophy.
